Grind - Propaganda Nation

Grind – Propaganda Nation

So is this album grind as in ‘bump and grind’ or grind as in ‘what a damn grind?

We sure as hell know what we prefer, but let’s fire up Propaganda Nation by the aforementioned ‘Grind’ and see how they cope…

Originally pumped out in 1993 this re-release has a definite heavy West Coast hard rock slur, these guys obviously love their ballsy six stringers and they use them with conviction. Their name most definitely suits their sound, gritty and deep with a cock-sure sneer. ‘Grind’ seem to be junkies to that bluesy rhythm coupled with crunching solos and hard hitting riffs. These guys don’t have the cleanest of sounds, they sound more like they’ve been in a dusty fist fight after a few shots down the local bar, with powerful vocals that pack a punch! The ‘Grind’ sound isn’t unique and would appeal to those hard rock fans out there, however that said let’s not get it twisted, these guys certainly know their trade and if you fancy a healthy dose of catchy hard hitting rock then you could do much worse!

The Rejects - Love Songs For People Who Hate

The Rejects – Love Songs For People Who Hate

Angst! Angst! Angst!

If you’re in the mood for some loud, snotty, aggressive steam roller punk ‘n’ roll then get yourself an cheap armful of – The Rejects!

With an album of 100mph+ tracks lasting for nothing more than a mayhem filled 2 minutes, this is a sick adrenalin ride. Tracks such as ‘The Radio Song’ will have you laughing until you p**s, whilst your ears are thoroughly insulted with lyrics that are so harsh they’d make a hangman blush! The Rejects play unadulteredarted punk ‘n’ roll with no holds barred and no apologies…or should that be ‘No F****N’ apologies, full of hate and an extremely stiff middle finger!

‘Love Songs For People Who Hate’ will have you pumped up psycho in seconds, you’ll be busting that volume dial for all its worth, more noise, more distortion – just more, more, more!

So we LOVE these true punks on junk – what are YOU gonna do about it?

Peter Blast – White Voodoo

An ol’ favourite here at Leatherboyz, our boy Peter Blast always comes up with some kind of sneering punk ‘n’ roll, and we recon ‘White Voodoo’ won’t be any surprise to all you blasters out there!

The whole album is low slung and so so snotty. The music is loose and lurid, yet delicately laced with an intoxicating cocky refinement. Pete’s vocals slide and slither through the mic, until finally pouring out like a glug of the cheapest bourbon.

With ‘White Voodoo’ you definitely get an arm full of retro rock ‘n’ roll, Pete’s sound is a heady mix of the legendary Dolls and Jagger’s Stones, gargled and spat at you – dirty and lewd!

If you like your tunes with a severe swagger then Peter Blast should be top of your list, he has the experience to mix up a cocktail of sounds like no other, a quart of 70 punk, a shot of blues and a magnum of pure sleaze.

Cheers Pete – White Voodoo’s been a Blast!
